“I came for a free consultation with a lawyer, and there they asked me: “Do you know about the recalculation of pensions?” says Andrei Potapov (name changed), a pensioner, group III disabled person from Kashira near Moscow. — My pension now is 8.5 thousand rubles. The law office says that the amount will increase to 19 thousand rubles after recalculation. To prepare the documents, I immediately paid the lawyers 35 thousand on the spot. Then they called me from this bureau and said that I needed to bring another 170 thousand rubles. Where do I get this kind of money?! I already gave them everything I had. But I never received any recalculation of my pension.

Now the prosecutor's office is looking into the case of the deceived pensioner.

Anna Maslova (not her real name) still hopes.

“I moved from Ukraine to Moscow to live with my daughter, received a residence permit, and only after that they assigned me a pension,” said Anna Ivanovna. “I think that they should have appointed me earlier, when I was already actually living in Moscow. The law firm said they would help prepare the necessary documents.

Granny has already paid the lawyers 88 thousand rubles. But, as explained in the capital’s Pension Fund Department, after an audit it turned out that her pension was calculated correctly and the amount would not increase after recalculation. But Anna Ivanovna stands her ground and is going to the law office again.

There are already thousands of such cases in the capital and Moscow region.

— From January to the end of September this year, the branch of the Pension Fund for Moscow and the Moscow Region and its divisions received 7,620 applications for recalculation of pensions, prepared by third parties and companies offering legal aid in the press service of the Pension Fund for Moscow and the Moscow Region. — Of these, 5,727 applications were in Moscow and 1,893 applications were in the Moscow region. At the same time, older people pay companies for this service from 30,000 to

200,000 rubles. In fact, at the Pension Fund, pension recalculation is done free of charge using a standard application, which anyone can fill out on the official website of the department (pfrf.ru). As practice shows, the vast majority of recalculations result in the same pension size.

Fraudsters catch pensioners not only at a personal reception, but also with the help of look-alike websites.

“Websites are being created en masse on the Internet that are similar to the official website of the State Pension Fund of Russia or posing as other trustworthy organizations,” said the capital branch of the Pension Fund of Russia. — Fake websites offer to get answers to all pension questions through a call center. To do this, you need to send a question by email and fill in the information - city, name, phone number. After this, the person is advised to wait for a call and an invitation to a “free” legal consultation, where he will eventually be offered paid services.

— The company enters into an agreement with the pensioner. It promises to conduct an “assessment of the legal situation” and draw up applications to the Pension Fund, social security and other official departments. Sometimes on the list.

— Pensioners are overcharged for legal services. Moreover, they assure that this money can then be recovered from the Pension Fund.

— Next are the two most likely options.

The first is that the company does not prepare the promised documents, or after some time it is liquidated, or moves without informing about the new address.

Secondly, the company draws up a multi-page document with quotes from laws, supposedly for recalculation, and even transfers it to the pensioner personally or directly to the Pension Fund. But after recalculation in the Pension Fund, the elderly person does not receive what was promised, since the amount of the pension remains the same. Lawyers often know about this, but still spin the pensioner for money. Of course, no one will return the money spent for an unnecessary service to the victim - neither the company, nor especially the Pension Fund.
