What is a demo version?
First, you should understand what the concept of “demo version” means. It turns out that this is not at all difficult. Since the main definition in this case is the word “demonstration”. And the original name serves only as an abbreviated name, so as not to pronounce unnecessary letters. Just remember this - and in the future you will immediately understand the essence of the information provided. And then we will consider the question of why developers started using such a scheme in the first place.
Who is entitled to payment
Not all pensioners have the right to receive monthly benefits, but only certain categories designated by decree of the President of Russia.
WWII veterans, participants and family members
This category of beneficiaries is defined by Presidential Decree No. 363 of March 20, 2005. Financial assistance is received by:
- veterans, disabled people, participants of the Second World War, juvenile prisoners of concentration camps in the past, both fascist and allied to Germany at the time of the Second World War;
- military personnel who were in reserve during this period of time, or who were on training in military institutions;
- widows of deceased war veterans;
- to the wives of military personnel who died on the battlefields during the wars with Japan, Finland and VO;
- residents of Leningrad who were in the city during the siege;
- former prisoners of concentration camps who were 18 years old at that time.
Important! For prisoners of concentration camps, there is an automatic system of financial assistance, since the pension fund works closely with the Foundation for Mutual Understanding and Reconciliation, which has in its database all the information about citizens who were in concentration camps during the war.
If the Foundation does not have information, then you need to collect documents proving the status of the former prisoner yourself. The data is stored in documents that can provide:
- defense authorities;
- counterintelligence;
- ATS;
- military units;
- if these organizations do not have information, you can contact the Red Cross.
Disabled people who have suffered war injuries
By Presidential Decree No. 887 of September 1, 2005, it was determined that persons who were injured or maimed during the war in battlefields are entitled to financial assistance. At the same time, the citizens were recognized by the VTEC commission as disabled.
It is worth noting that this category of beneficiaries does not include persons receiving assistance in accordance with Decree No. 363.
For special services to the Russian Federation
In accordance with Law No. 21-FZ of March 4, 2002, persons who have distinguished themselves by special services to the USSR and the Russian Federation are entitled to financial support. These include:
- Heroes of Russia and the USSR;
- persons who have awards - orders of Lenin, the First-Called, “Glory”, “For Services to the Fatherland” from 1 to 4 degrees, “Labor Glory” of all degrees;
- Heroes of socialist labor and labor of the Russian Federation;
- laureates of awards from the State, including the Lenin Prize;
- champions of the Paralympic, Olympic and Deaf Olympic Games.
DEMO for these categories of persons is accrued regardless of receipt of regional benefits and social payments. If a citizen has merits to the Russian Federation and society in the field of science and culture, then financial assistance can be paid only if the Head of the Russian Federation assigns a benefit by appropriate decree.
The Pension Fund explains: who is entitled to pay EDV, NSU, DEMO, DMO and where to apply
The Pension Fund of Russia and its territorial bodies, in accordance with the current legislation, make social payments, which, in particular, include a monthly cash payment (MCV) and the set of social services (NSS) included in it, additional monthly material support (DEMO), additional material support (MS).
Monthly cash payment is a social payment established by the territorial bodies of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation for certain categories of citizens. Among them:

- disabled people, including disabled children;
- former minor prisoners of fascism;
- persons affected by radiation.
You can view the full list of citizens entitled to receive EDV on the Pension Fund website in the “Life Situations” section. The process of obtaining EDV is of an application nature. A written application must be submitted to any Pension Fund at the place of residence or place of actual residence, or to a multifunctional center for the provision of state and municipal services (MFC). A citizen who lives in a stationary social service institution must contact the Pension Fund at the location of this institution. Citizens sentenced to imprisonment must apply for the appointment of an EDV to the territorial body of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation at the location of the correctional institution in which they are serving their sentence, through the administration of this institution. When EDV is assigned to a minor or incompetent person, the application is submitted at the place of residence of the minor or incompetent person at the place of residence of his parent (adoptive parent, guardian, trustee). Moreover, if the child’s parents live separately, then the application is submitted at the place of residence of the parent with whom the child lives. A minor who has reached 14 years of age has the right to apply for the establishment of a monthly cash payment independently. In addition, an application for the appointment of an EDV can be submitted electronically through: the federal state information system “Unified Portal of State and Municipal Services (Functions)” (EPGU), “Citizen’s Personal Account”.
If a citizen simultaneously has the right to receive EDV on several grounds under one law, the payment is established on one basis, providing for a higher amount of payment. Indexation of the EDV is carried out once a year, and from February 1, 2020, the payment is indexed by 4.3% based on the inflation rate for the previous year.
Set of social services (NSS) - included in the EDV, the cost of the monetary equivalent of the full package of social services from February 1, 2019 is 1121.42 rubles. NSO includes the provision of medicines, medical devices, medical nutrition products (863.75 rubles), the provision of vouchers for sanatorium treatment for the prevention of major diseases (133.62 rubles), free travel on suburban railway transport or on intercity transport to the place of treatment and back (RUB 124.05).
A citizen can choose in what form he will receive NSS: in kind or in the form of cash equivalent. You can refuse benefits in kind completely or partially.
The option of providing NSO for the next year must be decided before October 1 of the current year by submitting an application to the territorial bodies of the Pension Fund in person, by mail, electronically through your personal account on the Pension Fund website or through the MFC. Applications from citizens accepted before October 1, 2020 will be valid from January 1, 2020 until the beneficiary changes his decision. If a citizen is satisfied with the existing method of obtaining NSO and does not want to change it, there is no need to submit an annual application. It is enough to do this once.

Required documents
After the approval of Presidential Decrees No. 363 and No. 887 in 2005, DEMO payments were calculated automatically based on the information available on the personal account and in the recipient’s documents. In 2020, for those pensioners who have not received financial support, but fall into the specified categories and have full rights to it, an application form is provided to the local Pension Fund of the Russian Federation at their place of residence.
To receive DEMO for your pension, you must provide the following documents to the Pension Fund:

- notification of death;
- death certificate of the spouse;
- marriage certificate or civil status certificate.
After submitting all documents, a check is made to ensure that citizens comply with the specified categories, and after the application is accepted, the additional benefit is added and begins to be paid along with the monthly pension.
Important! If a pensioner simultaneously falls into several categories for receiving DEMO, then the Pension Fund selects one that has the largest amount of payments.
Termination of security
Payments are made on time with receipt of the pension, but in some cases the State and the Pension Fund may suspend them, for example:
- if the citizen is deprived of awards and titles;
