According to the 1993 law defining the legal status of heroes of Russia, the monthly remuneration of title holders was initially 36,410 rubles.

But a federal law was issued, the purpose of which was to improve the standard of living of certain categories of the population, including Gold Star bearers.

Important! After the adoption of the new law, the pension for the title of Hero of Russia began to be determined at 10 minimum wages, and today the average is 75,000 rubles . For award holders who have already reached retirement age, this money is in addition to basic social benefits.

Amounts of payments and allowances to heroes of Russia

If the holder of the title has another special legal status that guarantees him special remuneration or benefits, then he will have to choose one thing - the one that provides the greatest privileges.

If we consider each benefit payment separately, we get the following picture:

one-time compensation to the relatives of the deceased Gold Star winner - 20 thousand rubles;
regular monthly supplement intended for the same relatives - 8 thousand rubles;
the basic allowance for pensioners who bear the heroic star is 13.2 thousand rubles;
basic payment to the remunerated (EDV) – 42,654 rubles;
additional charges (DEMO) – 16,000 rubles;
regular compensation supplement to pension – 1500 rubles.

Please note: the amounts of these payments and bonuses are constantly changing, and along with them the total amount of monthly remuneration changes - such instability is explained by the peculiarities of indexation in our country.

Indexation of payments for the hero of Russia

Since the review and indexation of payments is carried out in April of each new year, it is almost impossible to predict what their amount will be this year. In this case, the coefficients of social payments provided for each region separately are not taken into account.

Compensation in case of posthumous award of a star

Not only military personnel, but also test pilots, submariners and representatives of other dangerous professions who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the Fatherland or other people often receive this award posthumously.

In this case, the monthly remuneration is awarded:

widow, widower;
children of the deceased.

Such material payments actually relieve them of the need to earn a living.

Important! If a spouse remarries, pension benefits immediately cease. In addition, in the event of the death of a Gold Star holder, his family will continue the pension without any penalties or reductions.
